League 2015

Junior League 2015

Junior League is designed to provide the opportunity for juniors to play on the golf course competitively in a fun & supportive environment.

Juniors will play 9 holes from appropriate tees on either the Robin Hood Golf Course or the Freedom course (there are 3 different courses located at Falcon Crest GC).

Younger juniors (4 - 6) or beginning golfers may opt to start out playing 3 holes and then progress to 5 holes, then 9 holes. Younger and new golfers will play from junior tees on Robin Hood.

Robin Hood Course
Robin Hood is an executive par 3 and par 4 course that is designed for junior players as well as beginning golfers, yet still offers the challenges of a regulation course. A combination of fairways & rough, short yardages & hazards/trees, and immaculate greens & contour, challenges the juniors while also preparing them for rounds of golf on a full-sized course.

Juniors more advanced will have the opportunity to play on Freedom during league days once they shoot a 42 on Robin Hood.

Freedom Course
The Freedom Course is a championship nine hole course (par 36) that leaves your short clubs in the bag. Once a junior is consistent with their irons on Robin Hood, it is time for them to move up to Freedom where they will utilize their woods more at a staggering 3,914 yards from the professional tees (there are 5 sets of tees, the front tees are 2,767 yards and juniors will start where appropriate).

Junior League Members will play in groups based on ability (1st) and age (2nd). This ensures the league will meet the needs of each individual junior.

For those juniors just starting to play, the league is a great way to start implementing the learned skills from the Academy

For juniors already at a competitive stage, the league offers you another structured round to your weekly practice routine to fine-tune your game and stay "competition-ready" for those larger tournaments and qualifiers.

Juniors will also learn and play in different formats each week. These are formats they may encounter in a future tournament and that also keep things fun and new. Examples: Match Play, Chapman, Scramble, Best Ball, Alternate Shot, Stroke Play, Modified Stableford

The program is set up to be a progressive learning & playing system that really benefits each individual golfer, meeting the needs of each & every junior at their different stages of learning the game.

Requirements:

  • League is available for juniors between the ages of 4-18.
  • Juniors in league are expected to to have their own clubs & have a background in golf or taken lessons.
  • During league days, parents will need to volunteer to walk with groups and keep score. Requirement: about 3 times out of the 8 scheduled dates.
